Ontabee is built by Technoduces Info Solutions, a software company that has been building business and restaurant software since 2011. It isn't a product we spun up last month to chase the GloriaFood news — it's a platform we've worked on for years, and this year we rebuilt it from the ground up.
It was because we kept watching independent restaurants get squeezed — 25 to 30% commissions to the big delivery apps, ordering systems that took a cut or locked them into contracts, and then, this year, a free platform that thousands of restaurants trusted getting switched off by the company that bought it. That last one is exactly the thing we think shouldn't happen to a business that just wanted to take orders.
